Zaak Afhandel App

ZGW-aligned case handling for Dutch municipalities, inside Nextcloud — zaken (cases), defined status workflows, the work queue, tasks for staff and citizens, attached documents, and a record of every decision (besluit). No separate case system, no second login.

Deprecated

The Zaak Afhandel App is no longer actively developed. Its functionality has been superseded by:

  • Procest — process and case management for Nextcloud
  • Pipelinq — CRM and pipeline management for Nextcloud

We recommend migrating to one of these apps. This documentation is preserved for reference.

What is the Zaak Afhandel App?

Zaak Afhandel App (ZAA) brings structured case handling (zaakafhandeling) into Nextcloud using Dutch government ZGW (Zaakgericht Werken) terminology and patterns. Case workers manage incoming cases from intake through resolution: assign tasks, exchange messages, log customer interactions, record decisions, and track every status transition — all from within Nextcloud. It also provides gateway and service-bus functionality for routing and translating API calls between systems.
